Top 16 Affiliate Marketing Websites & Programs For 2020

Case Study 1: Month 48. $4k/m.

Hi all,
Semi-regular commenter here: this has been a long time coming. I’ve been a 'Just Starter' for over 4 years. I figured it’s time to share my story, lessons learned, and try to open up some good discussion.
I know we've all been frustrated at the lack of original content on here (shout out to all the Case Study: Month 1 posts) so hopefully this gives you something to read. So, instead of Month 1, here's Month 48!

Background

I originally found Humble’s first case studies not long after he posted them. I was already looking at ways to make money online, and was instantly hooked.
With my web developer friend we made a broad home site, and I started writing. Basically just doing best of lists of blenders, ice cream makers, etc. I went through a summer of productivity: getting up at 5.45am before my office job and blasting out writing on the daily.
1 year later, with around 50 posts, two pages struck gold and we peaked at $2,700 in a month from US Amazon affiliate income. These were seasonal pages and a July heatwave helped a ton. It quickly died back off in the winter.
After that summer, productivity nosedived (I got a girlfriend). But sporadically kept building the site. Our income never got back to that peak, but the next summer saw a few $2k months. That's when I started to think doing this full time was possible. My job had become badly managed, and I wanted to move away from the city. So despite the site still making peanuts most months, I quit my full time job on July 1st, 2019.

1 Year Later

This year has flown by so quickly. I wondered so much about what it would be like to do this full time, and now here we are. Here’s the year in summary:

Traffic & Earnings

Traffic: https://imgur.com/ofnjfVa
The recent ‘explosion’ has been from the many informational posts I wrote after going full time. These are now finally maturing. Even with an established site it's still taking 3-6months for many of our posts to mature fully. Also we're still more summer focused than anything - still trying to get away from that.
Earnings: https://imgur.com/3Bfi5A0 (Amazon rate cut was April 21st). These don’t include UK/Canada which run at around 10% of US income. I couldn't get our earnings from the start - Amazon only goes back 2 years.
Until 2020, earnings were entirely from Amazon’s affiliate programs. Recently we signed up to Ezoic, though we were getting sweet f all ($6.5/1000 sessions). In the last month we switched to Mediavine and it’s changed everything. We’re seeing $25/1000 sessions, currently bringing $70+ a day. This alone has almost offset the Amazon cuts.

Our Strategy

I want to touch on how we’ve built the site, since that's always what I'm most interested in when reading other studies. Ours is about as simple a setup as you can imagine.
Until I went full time, 90% of our posts were simple ‘best of’ lists. These were lower competition keywords. We didn’t build a single backlink (mostly due to my lack of trying). Most of our success came from playing with the wording of semi-long tails. (For example instead of best blender, most reliable blender). Though this is getting harder with semantic search getting better.
Lately I’ve been doing more informational posts, with some level of link building to our top affiliate ones. These are 10x easier to rank for and, with a decent ad network, a good money maker.
Keyword Research
Nothing fancy here.
I’ve used a combination of Ahrefs (batching via their $7/7days trials) and Income School’s “alphabet soup” method to find keywords. Always manually checking the competition before committing to anything.
Article Setup
All on-page SEO is now covered in a publish checklist. Mostly watching out for:
I try to keep it up to date with the latest coming out of Authority Hacker, Backlinko, Ahrefs case studies.
Luckily my friend is a web dev wizard, so our theme is entirely custom with some slick formatting for product reviews, pros/cons, etc. This gives us a high authority look which I can only imagine helps.
Backlinks
Up until recently I hadn’t built a single backlink for the site.
We’d been pretty lucky with the keywords we went for – and mostly still are. There are very few posts I’ve actively built links to, and I’ve yet to deliberately win a medium/hard keyword with strategically built links.
That said, I’ve been trying to do much more in terms of link building. Especially now that I have the time. I’ve really noticed that it’s not about getting 400 money pages, but striking gold with 5-10 of them. We have 160 posts and the 80/20 principle definitely applies to the results we see from them.
Mostly the link building has been a case of shotgun skyscraper (Authority Hacker) and a few exchanges or paid links here and there. I’ve not had too much success, but I'm looking forward to sticking at it until we do. I’ve been inspired by the massive success jumstakl was sharing from this, and want to master it to his level. Though I do appreciate it's all pretty outdated now.
That said, our current top post (25% of all traffic) is a fairly random informational post that I’ve never built links to. For some reason it just topped a very nice SERP in Australia. Can't complain.
Content
One advantage we've had (imo) is in original, well researched content.
Having written over 150,000 words for this site I've gotten pretty quick at putting out articles. I typically take notes on every post in the top 10 results, collate that into one larger outline, and write. There's so many outsourced posts out there that sound like they were written using a Cambridge Thesaurus - so I try to keep things super conversational and easy to read.

The Future

The goal for this site is to keep maintaining what we have while continuing to build. I want minimal input for day-to-day writing, with my only involvement being keyword research, high quality posts, and outreach.
On top of that, I want us to hit a few ‘big’ keywords too. Topics with decent competition where our quality and real links get us to the top and blow up our income.
My ultimate goal is to hit $10k/month in income. This would be huge for me, give me friend some massive side income help (he gets 20%), and put us at a sale value that could buy an apartment.
Strategy
I desperately need to work with other affiliate programs away from Amazon. This has been something I thought would take days to fix, but I’ve spent ages analyzing potential affiliates and yet to make a sale with any. We’ve started on two silos built for new affiliate programs, so hopefully these will give some good returns.
From what I understand it’s going to be hitting huge success with smaller affiliate programs that will allow you to cruise past 5 figures a month in income. Though I'm a bit paralyzed because it feels like branching out into a new world – rather than the same old rinse and repeat I’m used to with Amazon.

Community Stuff

  1. I’d just like to shout out the mods for keeping this subreddit going. I literally wouldn’t be doing this without this sub (and Humble who started it). Thank you.*
  2. I’d like to agree with the recent sticky – there’s too much spam on here recently. I feel like Humble would lose his mind at the amount of shitposts. It’s up to all of us to report the dumb questions for the automod to remove, and to discourage the ‘Case Study: Month 1’ spam.*
  3. Are there any other communities you guys subscribe to for sites above the $1k/month mark? Speaking regularly to others with established sites would be a massive help - outside of this forum I don't really have anyone to talk to. Would love to become part of a community and make a few friends who also run sites like mine. If there’s anyone like that on here – particularly based in the UK – please hit me up!
Ask Me Anything
There’s obviously much more to our site than I can cover in one post. So AMA! It’s lockdown and I’m bored: if you want to know anything just ask. I may reply slowly, but I will reply.
Thanks for reading.

Energy Web Token - The most adopted token in blockchain and you've never heard of it!

Energy Web Token
This isn’t a short read so let me start with the tl;dr; there is an in-depth post after this part
You can fact check everything I say here - the project is open source.
Right let’s get stuck into it…
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————------------------------------
What is the Energy Web Foundation?
https://www.energyweb.org/work-with-us/our-affiliate-ecosystem/
Firstly, lets start with who actually orchestrated the creation of the EW Chain and Ecosystem, the Energy Web Foundation in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Institute.
The Energy Web Foundation is a global not-for-profit organization that creates open sourced, decentralized software around their blockchain ecosystem, the Energy Web Chain.
In just a couple of years, The Energy Web Foundation has managed to grow the largest energy blockchain ecosystem comprising utilities, grid operators, renewable energy developers, corporate energy buyers and others. More on this later.
What is the Energy Web Chain?
The Energy Web Chain is a public, enterprise-grade blockchain platform designed for the energy sector’s regulatory, operational and market needs.
The energy market is extremely regulated and as such the PoS mechanism that Eth is deploying was not deemed adequate for the energy market by the regulators. Therefore, the energy web chain works on an amended version of Ethereum (it is not ERC-20!) which leverages Proof of Authority - only global energy companies can host nodes to validate the chain - more on validators later.
Launched in mid-2019, it has become the industry’s leading choice as the foundational digital infrastructure on which to build and run blockchain-based decentralized applications (dApps).
Anybody can create a dApp on EW Chain, and the team are currently tracking 17 dApps that are scheduled to migrate across to main-net. Currently “The Energy Origin” dApp built by Engie is live - more on this later!
You can check out their explorer here:

Validators Overview
Full list of validators here:
validators.energyweb.org
Some of the validators for the chain for those that don’t like links:
Shell EDF Engie Total PTT Fluvius Elia Group Stedin Centrica
These companies host nodes to support the network.
Ecosystem overview
Shell - $388B
PTT - $53B
Tepco - $63B
Total - $209B
Exelon - $36B
State Grid Ev service (subsidiary of State Grid Corp of China) - $363B
Acciona - $8B
Chubu - $22B
Stedin - $1.2B
EnBW - $25B
EDF - $75B
Engie - $65B
Eneco - $4.5B
Siemens - $94B
SP Group - $4.1B
Tenaska - $11.9B
Wipro - $7.7B
PG&G - $17.7B
Centrica - $37.1B
AGL - $8.1B
APG - $1.2B
AES - $10.7B
Sum = $1.5tn of revenue between the 22 largest companies that make up the ecosystem.
Goal of the Energy Web ecosystem and maths behind their growth predictions:
“Our goal is to reduce 10 gigatons of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the energy sector over the next decade by onboarding over 225 million low-carbon energy assets into applications supported by EW-DOS. This will result in 870 GW of additional renewable generation capacity and 515 GW of low-carbon demand-side flexibility. Together, these equal more than the entire installed electricity generating capacity of the United States.”
https://medium.com/energy-web-insights/digitalization-means-decarbonization-4e4b1af21d63
“we project one-third of total wind, solar, and biomass resources (in terms of installed capacity) to issue EACs via platforms built on Origin by 2030, increasing from 0% today.”
“As shown below, achieving our goals (at least 870 GW of additional renewable generation and 515 GW of DER / DR capacity) will require onboarding roughly 225 million assets into EW-DOS.”
This equals a lot of on-chain activity.
So that briefly covers the chain and ecosystem, which anybody can create dApps on, but where is EWF’s value add?
The Energy Web Foundation has created two toolkits to help companies build on the Energy Web chain, these are detailed below:
Energy Web Origin- (NOT THE SAME AS THE ENERGY ORIGIN - THE DAPP BY ENGIE)
The EW Origin suite of SDKs supports existing and emerging renewable energy and carbon markets to simplify and enhance the issuance, tracking and buying/selling of energy attribute certificates (EACs), including renewable energy certificates (RECs), guarantees of origin (GOs) and international I-RECs.
Energy Web Flex-
The EW Flex suite of SDKs enable grid operators including vertically integrated utilities, distribution system operators (DSOs) and transmission system operators (TSOs) to integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) into energy markets and demand flexibility programs.
Energy Web Token
The platform is powered by the Energy Web Token (EWT) which is an evolution of Ethereum. The EWF recognized that Ethereum wasn’t suitable for the energy sector, which requires higher TPS for devices and higher security, in line with regulation.
So what is the use of the token?
First off, in a recent AMA, Jesse (CTO) said this;
Q- Can you confirm all Validators do in fact have to buy and sell tokens from exchanges or is there another process open to get EWT, like OTC?
A- The only place where tokens can be bought or sold are the exchanges where EWT is listed. This is why the Energy Web team is working on getting EWT listed on additional exchanges so more people have access to EWT (more announcements on additional exchanges coming soon).
The team have also said;
“It is likely that validators that are running use cases will not be able to generate all tokens needed by themself, so they’ll need to buy”.
So companies that need tokens, must buy (in the future via a treasury service) from exchanges.
Intrinsic uses;
Validator compensation - to pay for transaction fees and block rewards Chain security - to protect the network against transaction execution misbehaviour
Extrinsic uses;
Collateral - to enhance trust at the app level, e.g. in representations Community fund - 38m tokens put aside for further software development, bounties etc.
Volume based approach to value- Small fees, large numbers of transactions.
Currently 3m monthly transactions on test-net with this anticipated to grow exponentially as more value is pushed through the system and 250m devices are added.
EWT is currently listed on Liquid and from the 7th May will be listed on BitMart.
Supply & Market Cap
Total supply: 100m
Circulating supply: 46m
25m of that currently sits within the ecosystem with the energy companies.
21m is outside from the affiliate sales.
Current market cap is therefore $92m
Let me guess, its put you off somewhat?
Some of the validators for the chain:
Shell TEPCO EDF Engie Total PTT Centrica
Companies within the ecosystem have a combined revenue of approx. $2tn a year and they have COMMITTED to using the ecosystem.
The chain is 9 months old, has averaged 3m transactions per month on testnet and 17 apps are in production for mainnet, with one already live.
Companies above are set to capture a third of the total market for renewables, with the devices pledged to run on-chain.
Compare this to any other blockchain platform and then tell me it’s overvalued.
Also worth noting that LINK has never had a market cap lower than $49m, it’s comparable. (BTW cool fact - LINK provides the oracle services for EW Chain)
Current Apps and Those in Development
TEO by Engie
The Energy Origin by Engine is the first app released on Mainnet, Engie are a $65B French global energy company.
The Energy Origin (TEO) is a startup incubated within Engie since September 2018 accompanying customers towards the 3 X 100% goals for the future of energy systems “100% renewables, 100% time, 100% local”. TEO focuses on turning energy data into clear, compelling and trustable products through the use of Blockchain Technology. TEO commercializes an innovative solution to certify green energy production and consumption allowing customers to choose where their green electricity comes from and trace it back to its origin.
The TEO dApp leverages blockchain to improve the traceability and transparency of green energy, while also expanding the capabilities of supply-demand matching between renewable generators and corporate buyers, such as by choosing green energy on the basis of type of renewable energy, geographic distance from a given facility, and amount of carbon offsets.

https://www.energyweb.org/2019/09/19/blockchain-teo-the-energy-origin-is-the-first-application-to-migrate-onto-the-energy-web-chain/
PTT Thailand
The second app that is scheduled to go live on mainnet is built by Thai Energy company PTT, revenue $53B. Due to go live in May 2020.
“Bangkok, Thailand, and Zug, Switzerland — September 11, 2019 — Today, Thailand-based multinational energy conglomerate PTT and global energy blockchain nonprofit Energy Web Foundation (EWF) jointly announced the development of a new blockchain-based renewables platform. The application will be built on the Energy Web Chain and leverage the EW Origin family of open-source software development toolkits to create a regional solution compliant with the International REC Standard (I-REC).”
“PTT is responding to strong corporate demand for renewable energy certificate (REC) options in Thailand and the broader ASEAN region. Multinational corporations are looking to buy regionally sourced RECs matched to their demand from existing and new facilities in the region.”
“To date, Thailand and the ASEAN market more generally have largely been an untapped market for I-RECs. In 2018, some 1.2 billion energy attribute certificates (EACs) were traded globally. Yet renewable energy certificates (RECs) in the United States and guarantees of origin (GOs) in Europe accounted for the overwhelming majority of global EAC market activity. The ASEAN region only had about 5 million MWh of certified I-RECs, which represents less than one-half of one percent of global EAC markets.”

Shell
Shell wholly owned subsidiary Sonnen are building a digital power plant on the the EWF ecosystem. (Shell themselves are a validator)
“Zug, Switzerland — March 12, 2020 — Today the Energy Web Foundation (EWF) announced that the sonnen Group (sonnen) has unveiled a new virtual power plant (VPP) in northeastern Germany that leverages the Energy Web Chain and the EW Origin suite of software development toolkits (SDKs). A network of distributed residential energy storage systems comprise the VPP, which is used to absorb surplus wind generation and thus avoid curtailment of renewable energy by charging the batteries when wind energy is abundant.”
“With a flexibility market for renewable energies and the automatic exchange of supply and demand via the digital exchange ‘EW Origin,’ we are realising the next step towards a smart grid that can deal much more flexibly with fluctuations from renewable energy,” says Jean-Baptiste Cornefert, Managing Director of sonnen eServices. “Virtual power plants such as those from sonnen are the technical building block for this power grid that has been missing up to now and can help to ensure that less green energy is lost.”
“The sonnen Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of smart energy storage systems and a pioneer of clean, decentralized and networked energy system technologies. As one of the fastest growing tech companies in Europe, sonnen has received numerous internationally recognized awards. With its virtual battery, which consists of digitally networked home storage systems, sonnen offers new and highly innovative energy services for network operators and customers. sonnen’s products are available in many countries and has offices located in Germany, Italy, Australia, the UK and the USA. Since March 2019 sonnen is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell within its New Energies division.”

SP Group
Singapore’s SP Group launched one of the world’s first blockchain-powered renewable energy certificate (REC) marketplace.
The SP marketplace supports local, regional and international RECs which domestic and overseas buyers can access.
SP decided to implement a blockchain-based solution to offer an improved system compared to their competitors. The utility firm hopes that blockchain can furnish better security, integrity and traceability.
SP’s Chief Digital Officer, Samuel Tan, said, “Through blockchain technology, we enable companies to trade in renewable energy certificates conveniently, seamlessly and securely, helping them achieve greener business operations and meet their sustainability targets.”
Mike Power, COO of Technology and Operations, at DBS added: “As Southeast Asia’s largest bank, we recognize the leadership role we can play in promoting sustainable development, including supporting innovations in renewable energy. SP Group’s blockchain REC platform will make it more economically effective for organizations and will catalyze the transition towards a low carbon economy. “
The project will also help Singapore achieve its low carbon targets as part of the Paris COP-21 climate change agreement.

The other affiliate network ~ Pay Dot Com

The other affiliate network is Pay Dot Com. https://paydotcom.com/ What is pay dot com? An affiliate network, but one might provide you with a very positive and profitable experience. This other affiliate network is one that I have had good luck with, and in the video, you will discover why. I consider Pay Dot Com as the other affiliate since it is lesser-known. You may want to consider another affiliate network, specifically pay dot com. As a pay dot com affiliate, you will have access to a number of products that I feel sell themselves. Of course, I cannot make any promises but if you are wondering...Is pay dot com any good? Can i make any money with pay dot com? The answer is yes, in fact, this may be what you have been looking for. If you are thinking What are some other affiliate networks? Look at Pay Dot Com. Should I go with pay dot com? Is pay dot com worth joining, Should I join pay dot com,? I asked the same questions, a few years ago and in my case, the answer is yes. My intent is that my experience may help you with how to make money with pay dot com. The pay dot com network has plenty of affiliates and products to choose from and is free to join. Does pay dot com pay? Again, yes. Week # 1 - Affiliate Marketing Blog

Recently, I decided to venture into the world of affiliate marketing via blogging. I thought it would be great to hold myself accountable by posting regular updates on Reddit, and hell maybe I will help a person or two!
My Background
I am UK based, proficient with building websites, and have had smaller successful monthly subscription service websites but I am determined to further my knowledge in SEO.
I currently work full time, so time spent on writing my posts, developing the business etc. is outside of working hours and minimal throughout the week.
Short Term Goals
Long Term Goals
Week 1 Summary
Overall, I feel like Week 1 has been quite productive.
The Process
To get my website live, I researched a number of fast web hosts that had the ability to one click install Wordpress. One tip, there are a lot of ‘WordPress Specialist Web Hosts’ out there charging an arm and a leg. There are many more general web hosting sites that offer the same solution for much cheaper.
Once my web hosting was up and running, I began to dig into finding a theme for my blog. When looking for this, my main priority was to find a speedy, yet visually pleasing theme. Seemingly, page load time is massively influential in terms of SEO and keeping users engaged. Thanks to the ease of WordPress (I know I’m lazy..) it was as simple as just installing the new theme and making some slight adjustments.
First up, I needed to fill in all the main content for the site that would show throughout every page. I amended the menu, the site title, the footer and logo to show my brand and pages currently available. As a side note, I already had my brand images ready before going into this using freelancers on UpWork.
Secondly, I wanted to build a form to capture email addresses for further marketing purposes. For this, I chose to use Hubspot. I can’t comment as to why Hubspot is a good choice as this is my first time using the CRM, however it was extremely simple to set up. Once I had built my form to capture email address and date of birth, it was as simple as copy and pasting a JavaScript code into my page.
Now, I wanted to make sure I had a set of Terms and Conditions, Privacy and Cookies Policies listed on my website. These are crucial to protect your business, but are also required if you are looking to go into partnerships with affiliates. Once again, the almighty overlord Google was my best friend here. I searched for free example templates (there are tons out there!) just to get me up and running. I have been advised that when I start to get real traction, to hire an expert to ensure they are up to scratch, however this will suffice to get me up and running!
Now for the tough part - planning my content. I am no expert in SEO, so there is going to be a lot of trial and error here. I’m not a content marketing genius or an expert blog poster. I am a complete novice to this so I decided to do some research. Using tips from guides sourced online, I built myself a list of low competition key words with an average monthly volume of searches within my niche (1000-7500 searches a month, but low comp).
Using my list of keywords, I just decided to get stuck right in. I used a plugin called YoastSEO on WordPress to help me manage my on post SEO. From what I gather, it does provide a helping hand with its Red, Amber, Green alerts regarding your content and formatting... BUT! YoastSEO is not indicative of how you are going to rank on google. At the end of the week, I managed to total 6 posts focussed on my niche. I actually enjoyed writing more than I thought!
To end the week, now that I had some content I wanted to ensure I could see all the data. Connecting Google Analytics and Search Console can sound daunting. After trawling through a couple of guides, it really is a walk in the park.
Feeling super motivated right now and would love to try and keep this up, but may end up being more of a monthly thing.
I would love to hear anyone’s comments on how I can improve, or if you have any questions I would love to answer them.
Signing off, Week #1

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - RETURN TOUR MEGATHREAD

UPDATED FEBRUARY 2, 2020 AT 20:40 GMT
As all speculation regarding the Return tour has now been rendered unnecessary following the announcement of North American and European tour dates this past week, I have removed the old Reunion Megathread and replaced it with this one. It will contain particular information regarding shows and provide a space for community members to buy and sell tickets at face value.
If you are interested in selling your tickets, message me with proof of merchandise and post your advertisements in the comments of this post. All ticket sale posts that have not already been approved by mods and not on this megathread will be deleted. All meta discussion of the tour (excluding pictures/videos taken at shows) should also take place here.

Privacy/Security tools

Long post ahead.
and how more Filipinos are moving online because of the quarantine.
Make no mistake however that privacy is a global issue especially during this internet age where there is mass surveillance. Some examples of what companies can do with your data here. I don't consider myself an expert and encourage you to do any further research on your own as well.
VPN
I decided to use one to avoid throttling by my ISP (P2P/Torrents, streaming) and for peace of mind in protecting and hiding my real IP address. The bonus was being able to access US/UK Netflix content. Now with the Anti Terrorism bill and fake Facebook accounts popping up, I'm all the more protective of my online activities.
My main consideration in choosing a provider was whether they had an actual, physical server here in the Philippines instead of using a virtual server (IP address will be Philippines, but you connect to a server from Hong Kong/Singapore). If I pay, I might as well pay for one that is actually providing a server here. This was because I plan to keep my VPN on 24/7, even during gaming, so latency/ping is important. You can read here and here on the tests I used to check the location.
My VPN research shown here. This isn't meant to be a formal database of any sort, these are just my notes. For what it's worth, I ended up choosing StrongVPN because they are so far the only provider I've seen with physical servers here and that support the newest VPN protocol (Wireguard).
Take note almost all of the providers have a trial, or a 30 day money back guarantee. So I was able to try about 5-7 for free to see which one suited me best. If deciding on a VPN, make use of the trial because the best connection is different for everyone. Almost all reviews you see online are from people based in the US/Europe so I had to try them on my own. FWIW my ISP is Converge.
What about free providers? You usually get what you pay for and these free providers usually sell your data in exchange for a free VPN. Perhaps the only ones I would trust would be Windscribe (which has a monthly data cap) and ProtonVPN. You'll have to connect to a Hong Kong server for both.
What about for my mobile? I personally keep mine on 24/7 because (from what I've heard from the grapevine) our telco providers actually do have access and can look into everything that you do while connected to mobile data. And they do. Which, in my opinion, is just creepy.
A VPN is just one small part of a whole privacy suite though, so am also giving info on the other stuff I found to complement a VPN:
DNS
You can read about DNS here. This goes hand in hand with a VPN and most VPN providers actually provide their own DNS servers too. I choose to use my own.
Firefox and Chrome both have DNS over HTTPS in their settings. Please check your mobile phone if you have Private DNS settings. I have a Samsung phone and I have this in my settings.
Providers:
Personal recommendation: NextDNS - fairly new player and they just recently partnered up with Mozilla (Firefox). Free (up to 300,000 queries a month), uses local currency pricing - PHP99/mo or PHP900/yr). The free tier is fine, but this depends on how much browsing you do and how many devices you will use it for. I put it on my browser and phone and almost reached the limit before the month was over.
Compared to the other two, this one is highly configurable and customizable. You can choose the specific ads & tracking blocklists you want to enforce, whitelist domains, and choose whether you want to keep any or zero logs. I keep logs for 1 month so I can also troubleshoot and see which blocklist blocked which domain in case a website or element won't load. It also has an analytics page that is pretty cool to see. Example: 1 2 3 . You might be surprised on how many queries are being made in the background while you browse, just to track you.
For the more savvy out there, you can opt to even use the DNS servers on your router so all devices connecting to it are protected (no more setup for each device). Am considering this just to make sure my parents won't accidentally click through scammy sites, lol. A big plus in using this on your phone (depending also which blocklist you choose) - no ads, even in my free phone apps. Hehe
If you want your entire computer using the DNS (the queries made outside your browser ex. system apps, games, apps like Viber desktop, etc), I use YogaDNS as suggested by NextDNS from their setup page. The app is highly configurable too.
Browser
I use Firefox which is an open source browser, and the company/foundation behind it supports privacy and free/open internet initiatives. It also is highly configurable if you know what you are doing (via about:config). Privacy Tools is a great resource I used for some of the add ons and about:config tweaks I used to "harden" my browser's privacy and security. This might be for more advanced users though.
Add ons that I have:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/exampleProduct/ref=sxin\_0\_pb?\_\_mk\_de\_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&keywords=tea&pd\_rd\_i=exampleProduct&pd\_rd\_r=8d39e4cd-1e4f-43db-b6e7-72e969a84aa5&pd\_rd\_w=1pcKM&pd\_rd\_wg=hYrNl&pf\_rd\_p=50bbfd25-5ef7-41a2-68d6-74d854b30e30&pf\_rd\_r=0GMWD0YYKA7XFGX55ADP&qid=1517757263&rnid=2914120011
is really just:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/exampleProduct
As also mentioned above, enable DNS over HTTPS in the settings.
Other tips
Do I really need to use these/install all these? It is really up to each person to decide on where they are willing to compromise privacy for convenience. You can check out the privacy subreddits here and find that some people refuse to use Windows, refuse to use programs unless they are open source, deleted their Facebook accounts, etc.. To each his/her own. I decided I still am using some services by the corporate giants, but I just choose to try as much as I can to limit what I put out there there. And while cost is of course an important factor, just always remember: If it is free, you are the product.
Hope this helps and hope everyone stays safe not only from the virus, but from threats online.
Parting words:
... Saying that you don't need or want privacy because you have nothing to hide is to assume that no one should have, or could have, to hide anything -- including their immigration status, unemployment history, financial history, and health records. You're assuming that no one, including yourself, might object to revealing to anyone information about their religious beliefs, political affiliations, and sexual activities, as casually as some choose to reveal their movie and music tastes and reading preferences.
Ultimately, saying that you don't care about privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different from saying you don't care about freedom of speech because you have nothing to say. Or that you don't care about freedom of the press because you don't like to read. Or that you don't care about freedom of religion because you don't believe in God. Or that you don't care about the freedom to peaceably assemble because you're a lazy, antisocial agoraphobe. - Edward Snowden

Need some advice on my new venture.

Hi there, I starting out my programming/development journey and have set up a few websites that will be receiving a small amount of income each month. This is from, affiliate links, banner ads, and contributions from viewers. Quite a bit of this is spent on the sites hosting, domain, etc. I do not have a LTD company set up yet as I am under 18. Looking to create a source of passive income from this venture in a few years.
So far according to my research, I would be liable to pay income tax and NI as a sold trader (?) once I reach the government threshold. What advice would you have for someone starting out as a freelance software/web developer and whats the best way to minimise my tax liability? Also how are donations made by website viewers classified as far as tax goes?
Also if anyone could suggest a name for my new venture then that would be helpful!
Many thanks!

[1] Ilan Pappe notes that the villagers had no proper arms, only for hunting purposes and people who served in the police; without Arab troops that were absent they stood no chance [2] In April 1948, the Intelligence of the Hagana defined men as anyone above the age of 10
